How does a shortened link work?

Last updated on February 20, 2024

With Link-to, you can take a long link (also called a destination URL) and shorten it to one that is easier to share. With the paid plan you can use your own custom domain and the custom half of the backend to get a unique and branded link (*option coming soon)

For example:

Long link: https://www.onet.pl/informacje/onetkrakow/tu-mieszkania-sa-jednymi-z-najdrozszych-w-polsce-nawet-laka-warta-jest-krocie/jj3pcy8,79cfc278
Short link : https://link-do.pl/zakopane-dzialki
Custom link : https://twojadomena/zakopane-dzialki

Kwhen you create a link using Link-do, clicks on it are redirected to the target URL you started with. To do this, we run a 301 redirect, which is a technique of serving a website to multiple URLs. We do not reuse or modify shortened links, so our redirects are permanent. A 301 redirect has no impact on your website's SEO. Ready to start creating your own shortened links?
